Introduction:

My film, Creative Vandal, is a documentary that explores the life and career of one of the most influential music video directors ever, Nick Egan. It was created for my studio DOGMA85, which is a film and content studio focused on the creation of films, interviews and documentaries about art and passion for creativity in every form.

Inspiration:

The idea for the documentary came to me because I grew up in the 90s, and I used to spend tons of hours watching MTV. Having being able to create a documentary about the person who made many of those music videos that influenced so much my upbringing has been an incredible experience.”

The Process

Filming took place mainly in Los Angeles in April 2024. 2 interviews were made in London, and some other interviews were made via Zoom. The biggest challenge to face was to be able to work under a lot of pressure. The L.A. filming was intense since some of it was done Gorilla-style. The most amazing moment was interviewing John Taylor from Duran Duran in London.

What It Means to Be a Finalist:

Being selected at the film festival is a great achievement for my studio since I want to be able to continue to create films about inspiring creatives around the world.
