Introduction:
Untouched is a Black-Mirror-style rom-com about lonely people seeking connection anywhere except the place they’re most afraid to look, and finding it not in technology but through the simple but difficult act of reaching out.
Inspiration:
Untouched was born from a series of shorts that I wrote around the notion of people finding connection in unexpected ways. I loved the idea that technology can both hinder as a distraction, but can also sometimes help. It can enable people to express themselves when they otherwise might be too scared.
The Process:
Filming took place in London over two days – the first at a house and the second in a nightclub. With so little time to shoot, I learned the value of meticulous planning – but somehow still managed to get soaked in the rain on the way to the location.
What It Means to Be a Finalist:
We were overjoyed to hear that Worcester had given Untouched its stamp of approval. It’s great to be part of such a respected festival and meet some incredibly talented filmmakers.
