Behind the Screen: Unveiling the Story of In Half.
Introduction:
My film, In Half, is a fantastical adventure that transports us to a world filled with magic and mystery, where the impossible becomes possible and the extraordinary intertwines with the everyday. Born as a personal project, it represents a profound emotional journey that touches on the most universal aspects of the soul: loneliness, fear, and the internal struggle we face with our limitations. The film not only invites reflection on the human condition but also immerses us in the intimacy of a character navigating through a spectrum of their own emotions. Through its narrative, In Half reminds us that even in darkness, there is always room for discovery and hope, making this story both magical and deeply human.

Inspiration:
“In Half” was born from my need to explore the depths of the mind and soul during moments of uncertainty and fear through animated beings. Inspired by classics such as “A Christmas Carol” and “Alice in Wonderland,” the piece opens doors to magical universes filled with symbolism and reflection. The influence of William Mudford and his story “The Iron Shroud” offers insight into the duality between reality and fiction, as well as the internal struggles we face. The film depicts how fear and anxiety can trap us, but also how empathy and self-awareness can guide us towards the light. It is a sincere reflection on the impact of fear in our lives, a call to confront our inner battles and understand the complexity of our experiences.

The Process:
“In Half” is a deeply personal project recounting an eight-year journey across six countries. It reflects my growth, passions, and fears, serving as a constant companion throughout my transformation. Created entirely independently, without institutional support or external funding, every aspect was crafted with love and dedication.
The production is handmade, with meticulous attention to detail in animation and storytelling. Each frame is thoughtfully designed, incorporating symbols and metaphors to convey complex ideas subtly and profoundly.
Through this work, I’ve been able to explore and articulate my genuine emotions, turning a personal voyage into an artistic piece that invites reflection.
